Clinical Research Coordinator

Maya graduated from Wesleyan University in 2023, Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Psychology and Government. During her time at Wesleyan, she worked on several research projects—from studying communication patterns around suicidal thoughts and behaviors in romantic partners to chronic PTSD among World Trade Center responders and app-based interventions for substance abuse concerns. Her main undergraduate research project focused on the relationship between subjective perceptions of sleep quality and psychosocial stressors among pregnant women during the pandemic—sparking her passion for perinatal mental health. She also volunteered as a doula in local CT reproductive health clinics, tutored children of recent immigrants & refugees, and led Wesleyan’s Student Health Advisory Committee. At MGH, Maya supports the National Pregnancy Registry and the neuro-steroid intervention for menopausal depression project. After working with the Center for Women’s Mental Health, she intends to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology.
