Gabriella Hamlett is a Clinical Practicum Student at the Center for Women’s Mental Health (CWMH) and a Clinical Psychology PhD student at Harvard University, where she is mentored by Dr. Richard McNally. Prior to beginning her PhD in 2022, Gabriella served as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania under the mentorship of Dr. Edna Foa. There, she coordinated a study investigating the impact of estradiol on fear extinction processes in women with PTSD receiving prolonged exposure therapy. Gabriella earned her MA in Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2020 and her BS in Psychology with a minor in Professional Writing from the University of California, Davis in 2017. Regarding clinical training, Gabriella has received training in Exposure and Response Prevention at the McLean Hospital OCD Institute. In her role as a Clinical Practicum Student at the CWMH, Gabriella will be supporting the facilitation of psychotherapy services and research interventions.

Regarding Gabriella’s research, she is interested in broadly investigating risk factors for the onset or recurrence of psychopathology in pregnancy and postpartum, specifically focusing on anxiety, depression, PTSD, and comorbid conditions with an emphasis on individuals who have experienced sexual violence. Gabriella is interested in utilizing novel statistical methods, such as network analysis, to develop personalized interventions. Her program of research also focuses on increasing access to perinatal interventions through the development of scalable digital mental health interventions.
