A New Home for More Than Blue

A New Home for More Than Blue

Introducing the More Than Blue website: a new home for the documentary exploring postpartum depression, anxiety, and psychosis - and the growing community it has inspired.

Over the past year, More Than Blue has grown far beyond what we ever imagined. What began as a documentary illuminating the faces and voices of postpartum depression, anxiety, and psychosis across America has become a global community of mothers, families, clinicians, advocates, educators, and organizations committed to advancing maternal mental health.

Today, I’m excited to share the next chapter in that journey: the launch of our new More Than Blue website

A Journey Made Possible by Our Community

In the past year, our community has hosted more than 180 screenings of More Than Blue across hospitals, health systems, universities, community organizations, governments and educational settings. Every screening has created space for honest conversations about maternal mental illness – and reminded us of the power of bringing together science and stories to raise awareness and mitigate suffering for those impacted by these conditions.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who hosted a screening, watched and shared the film, or joined in on these important conversations.

“So beautifully done. Looking forward to sharing More Than Blue with patients, psychiatrists, and other colleagues within The Permanente Group.”

- Kaiser Permanente, CA

“This film is a masterpiece! It features first-hand stories from several women who have experienced a wide range of maternal mental health conditions, along with expert advice and information from noted reproductive psychiatrists. This should be ‘must-see TV’ for anyone who interacts with pregnant and postpartum people.”

- Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance, D.C.

From Community Screenings to Living Rooms

Our global streaming release across major digital platforms in the spring marked yet another important milestone for our film, making More Than Blue accessible to families, clinicians, and communities into living rooms around the world.

Whether you’re a new parent, a loved one, or a healthcare professional, we hope the film continues to raise awareness, reduce stigma around maternal mental illness, and help improve access to care with earlier recognition and treatment.

“This film is: beautifully produced, clear and informative, and deeply human. I walked away saying I wished all new parents – no, everyone who ever interacts with a new parent! – could see these stories of what perinatal mood disorders really look like. Up close and personal. So many more people would be able to spot the signs and know what type of help is available if they saw this film.”

- Working Mom, Washington D.C.

A New Home for More Than Blue

As our community has grown, we wanted to create a central platform where people could easily connect with the film and continue the conversation.

Please check out our new More Than Blue website to:

  • Learn more about the documentary
  • Find where to stream the film online
  • Host a screening in our community
  • Stay connected with the latest news and updates

None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary courage of the mothers and families who shared their stories, the clinicians and advocates working to improve maternal mental health care, and the gifted production team that worked to bring More Than Blue from an idea to a full-length documentary.

Our mission remains the same: to raise awareness, reduce stigma, mitigate suffering, and help ensure that every mother has the opportunity to get well.

Best,
