Heading up the roundup is a nice review on the use of natural phytoestrogens for the management menopausal symptoms which suggests that phytoestrogens are associated with modest reductions in hot flashes but have no effect on night sweats (Franco et al).   In a randomized controlled trial, an interpersonal therapy-based intervention was effective for preventing postpartum depression in a group of high-risk women (Zlotnick et al).
