A Message from the MGH Postpartum Psychosis Project This Maternal Mental Health Month

The Postpartum Psychosis Project team shares what inspires their work and the key lessons they hope more people understand.

Every May marks Maternal Mental Health Month. This year, May 1 marked the sixth annual Pregnancy and Postpartum Psychosis (PPP) Awareness Day. In recognition of this, the Mass General Hospital Postpartum Psychosis Project (MGHP3) is sharing messages of hope about this illness.

In the video below, Dr. Lee S. Cohen, MD, and the MGHP3 team highlight what inspires them most about this research and the key lessons they hope more people understand. Most importantly, postpartum psychosis is a treatable—and often preventable—condition, and most individuals make a full recovery.

For more information or to enroll in our research study, call 617-643-7205, email MGHP3@partners.org, or visit http://www.mghp3.org/about-our-research. Participation entails a brief screening call, a one-time phone interview, and saliva sample collection via mail for genetic analysis.
