Aashna Pandya is a senior at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Studies (MCPHS) studying molecular biology and health psychology. At MCPHS, she engaged in research identifying lncRNAs causing Dysferlinopathy. She has also worked as a volunteer for the Crisis Text Line, where she frequently talked to women struggling with motherhood and depression, sparking her interest in exploring mental health disorders in women – especially during and after pregnancy. Additionally, she has written a paper on identifying new screening tools and treatments for Paternal Peripartum Depression. She is currently developing an initiative at her university to create awareness about premenstrual dysphoric disorder. At MGH, she will primarily assist with the National Pregnancy Registry for Psychiatric Medications. In the future, she hopes to go to medical school and specialize in Psychiatry.
