Many people feel unhappy with their bodies, especially during pregnancy. Pregnancy can make people feel worried or upset about their body’s changes. For those who had eating problems before, these worries might make past eating problems come back. Unfortunately, we don’t have good programs to help with body image and eating issues during pregnancy.
We want to fix this. There is a program called The Body Project that helps with eating and body image issues. In this research study, we want to adapt it to help people during pregnancy.
In the first part of the study, we adapted the Body Project to fit pregnancy better. Now we want to test it out to see if it’s helpful. We are looking for people who are between the ages of 18 and 45 years old, who have had a baby before, and who have had an eating disorder or eating problems in the past to participate.
If you join, you will attend six one-hour online sessions of The Body Project for Pregnancy over 6 weeks. After each session, you will answer some questions online. When the study ends, you will also join a group discussion to give feedback on the program. We will pay you up to $250 for being part of this study. If you want to join, click the link and fill out a form. If you have questions, please email mghbodyprojectpregnancy@mgb.org or call (617) 383-4738.
